Compelling Human Angle Stories on Family Planning

Following the lack of awareness of Family Planning, the country is at risk of population explosion over time.

 


The second day of the 3 say Media Advocacy Training on Family Planning organized by The Challenge Initiative (TCI) in Minna.

 

Mr. Onche Odeh,  Facilitator from Development Communication Network introduced the topic on Compelling Human Angle Stories on Family Planning and how the media involvement can reduce maternal and child birth mortality in Nigeria.

Odeh explained the main objective, role of media and why people depend on media for informatio. He also spoke about the Major Concerns,  pressing needs and challenges of Family Planning.

Participants went on a field trip to Health Care Centers within the state. One of the visits was to the Primary Health Care Center, Tunga and another was to the Maternal and Health Care Center in Bosso Local Government Area.

Hadiza Kibya,  a staff at the Primary Health Care Center, Tunga told participants the services they render which Family Planning, Immunization and Antenatal. She said 24 staff are currently working in the clinic and had about 131 patients in January and 85 so far in February.

 

At the Maternal and Health Care Center in Bosso Local Government, Hindatu Nuhu said the clinic attends to Family Planning patients. Hindatu also said the clinic receives about 223 patients in a month and about 30 patients a day who come for Child Spacing.
